Decision:
That SGC Holdings Ltd trading as SGC Security Services be awarded the contract for security services for Oldway Mansion and grounds, Paignton from 19 February 2019 for up to four years on a yearly renewable contract.
Reasons for the decision:
To ensure continued security provision for Oldway Mansion and its grounds.
Alternative options considered:
None
Implementation:
This decision will come into force and may be implemented on 22 January 2019 unless the call-in procedure is triggered (as set out in Standing Orders in relation to Overview and Scrutiny).
Information:
The Council undertook a procurement exercise during 2018 to provide 24 hour, 7 days a week security to ensure that Oldway Mansion and grounds is kept safe and secure pending a review of the future use of the building and grounds.
The Council is now in a position to award a contract to the preferred bidder, which is in excess of £50,000 and therefore requires formal approval of the Elected Mayor. The Oldway Mansion Working Party were consulted and supported the proposal at their meeting held on 10 January 2019.
